Excel Template Customization 

Customize the Excel template to fit your business's allowed deductions/exemptions. If your business does not use a specific Deduction ID, simply delete the column from your spreadsheet. This will make the upload process more efficient every month.

1.  Click the link HERE for a list of all allowed State and Home Rule city exemptions. You can subscribe to changes in this Allowed Exemptions sheet by clicking the header button "Tools" and "Notification Rules".

2.  Go to the Business Center and download the Excel template for your business from the "Quick Links" section, by clicking the green 'Create Custom Tax Filing Template' button.

3.  Begin adding or deleting Deduction IDs that are relevant to your business.

  1.  Use the spreadsheet above to review the allowed deductions for each participating Home Rule city.

  1.  Insert a new column to add a new Deduction ID.

Note: Deduction IDs may overlap between certain Home Rule cities. Only add unique deduction IDs that are useful for each jurisdiction. Do not duplicate deduction columns.

  1.  Delete any State or Home Rule Deduction IDs that are not used for your business. Be sure to delete the entire column from your spreadsheet.

d. Save your new customized template.
